I have been stuggling with my weight for a year. When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, I was very faithful to my diet and watching what I ate. Now, a year later, I've fallen face first into the food wagon. I've gained all the weight I've lost and the scale is still climbing. So much that it hurts to get up out of a chair, not to mention the ouch, ooch, eech, that comes out of my mouth as I go up and down stairs. My ankles look and feel like they have 5 pound weights around each one. Not to mention my hands ... they are pillsbury dough boy hands and the joints just don't want to work without pain.
So why don't I stay on my diet? Temptation. I love sweets, reason why I have diabetes. I love all foods that taste good and are bad for you.
My daughter wants to lose 15 pounds by September 1st. I've joined her in the loss and challenged her, if she accepts, it will cost us both money if we do not lose. $1 for each pound not lost by September 1. Two dollars for each pound gained over our initial weight. This should make for an interesting summer!
Hi, I'm Deb and a recovering Catholic who gave up on religion, but was searching for something. I also thought I had given up on God, only to realize I hadn't and that He had not given up on me! What Good News that is! I live in Northern Nevada, married, have 3 married children (2 daughters and 1 son) and 5 grandchildren. Nope, they all live in different areas, which makes seeing them difficult. Thank you God for pictures!
I work on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and am thankful for the drive I make everyday.
