I have an Everday Bible CSB version I read in the morning. An NIV Bible in large print for my Bible Study. Yes, I did say large print, so much easier to read when lights are turned down in class as we watch a Beth Moore DVD. At night I read the Life Recovery Bible, NLT version.
At present, I don't have a desire to read my favorite authors Nora Roberts aka J.D. Robb, Laurell K. Hamilton, etc. I must admit I have read a few Beth Moore books since my rebirth in Christ. The other things I read are the blogs of my fellow Arts Ministry friends.
So as I was reading April 18 in my daily reading something came over me to search through a few chapters to find this Psalm:
Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me? They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God. Redemption does not come so easily for no one can ever pay enough to live forever and never see the grave. Psalm 49:5-9 NLT
Wow, envy is everywhere. I used to be drenched in envy that it just made me sick. I find I don't want much anymore. I do say how something would be nice, but deep down, do I really want it? ... no, not really.
Hi, I'm Deb and a recovering Catholic who gave up on religion, but was searching for something. I also thought I had given up on God, only to realize I hadn't and that He had not given up on me! What Good News that is! I live in Northern Nevada, married, have 3 married children (2 daughters and 1 son) and 5 grandchildren. Nope, they all live in different areas, which makes seeing them difficult. Thank you God for pictures!
I work on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and am thankful for the drive I make everyday.
