For those that have not heard of the Share Program, here's the link to check it out http://www.goldensharefoods.com You can view the menu & prices. If you click on "Links" it will take you to the other Share sites across the country. Basically it is grocery store quality food at a low price.
Our church has a Food Pantry that helps those in need in our area. You do not have to be a member of our church. We try to put a church bulletin in each family's food box so they can read what is going on in our church. One day a family came in and told me, that they started attending our church because the food panty always provides them food. The whole family, Grandma, mom and the kids enjoyed the music and the teaching so much, they now regularly attend each weekend. As our senior pastor would say, "Yay God!"
What does this story have to do with Share? Well, through this program, our Food Pantry is now able to provide eggs, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and frozen meat to those in need. This is provided by the members of our church who donate the food they purchase to the pantry. So not only can you buy the food for yourself, you can also donate a box to the food pantry.
Share is a great program, you've gotta check it out.
Hi, I'm Deb and a recovering Catholic who gave up on religion, but was searching for something. I also thought I had given up on God, only to realize I hadn't and that He had not given up on me! What Good News that is! I live in Northern Nevada, married, have 3 married children (2 daughters and 1 son) and 5 grandchildren. Nope, they all live in different areas, which makes seeing them difficult. Thank you God for pictures!
I work on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and am thankful for the drive I make everyday.
